We are living in an extraordinary time of change and transition—from an economy running on planet-damaging fossil fuels to an economy powered by clean and renewable energy sources. A key component to the green economy is, naturally, transportation. While EV adoption is increasing, it’s not sufficient for everyone to own an electric vehicle. They need to be able to charge it, at a time and place that is safe, convenient, and affordable.
Enter the EV Charging for All Coalition (EVCAC), a group of 1400 organizations and entities supporting equitable EV charging access to multi-family housing communities. We succeeded in dramatically increasing access in the CA building codes for new multi-family housing developments (from 10% to 40%).
LUCITÀ chief Birgitte serves on EVCAC’s leadership team, along with representatives from Acterra, Plug in America, and other EV sector professionals. In this pro bono engagement, she advises on communications and media strategy, helps shape communications materials, and attends state-level policy workshops and meetings.
